we've come right to the 11th hour. the fact there's going to be a substantive deal that comes out in the 11th hour is probably nailed to zero. in my sense, it's easier to go over the cliff. then there's clarity, right? taxes up, spending cut. the market will know what is going to happen. it can only get better from there, because then you'll guess legislators that come to the table, that try to cut taxes and raise some spending and they'll argue it from a positive point of view and stand up and say, rah, rah, look what we did. right? it won't get any worse if we go into the cliff. if there's a band-aid, confusion, no clarity. the market will probably react more negatively than actually going over the cliff. i think that's what investors have to be concerned about. now, that being said, i don't think the market's going to crash by any sense, because i think there's a lot of money still on the sidelines that needs invested, but people have to understand the difference between the two outcomes. >> but if there is a band-a

obama wants $250,000 as the threshold, but republicans are pushing for more than $400,000, but it is splitting hairs at a certain point and especially now in the 11th hour or less than 30 hours away from the deadline. so we will see that, and we hope that they are going to put an amt patch in to protect the middle-class in from playing the wealth year for tax year 2012 yet, and we are totally running out of time on that one, and we have a bunch of tax extenders for businesses and individuals and they have expired and will they extend those? and the payroll tax will certainly expire and nobody is talking about that. the first pay xhek in jcheck in will be smaller regardless because of that. >> and you are so good at giving explanations for 99.8% of americans who are not accountants. but the amt patch will affect you for the 2012 income, and not the 2013, so that matters immediately. >> right. in effect, the irs came out last week and said, hey, lawmakers, if you don't do an amt patch by december 31st, we will have to delay 100 million returns which means delays refunds for those folks
